1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Recipify mobile application or website (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Recipify ("we", "our", or "us"). We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
3. Your Account
You may use Recipify as a guest (data stored locally on your device) or by creating a free account. If you create an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete registration information
- Keep your password confidential and not share it with others
- Notify us immediately at support@recipifyapp.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
- Take responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Permitted Use
You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service or its servers
- Upload or transmit content that is harmful, offensive, or infringes any third-party rights
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
5. Your Content
You retain ownership of the recipe content you create, scan, or upload through the Service ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.
You are responsible for ensuring that Your Content does not infringe the intellectual property rights of others. If a recipe originates from a published cookbook or other copyrighted source, scanning it for personal use is your responsibility to ensure complies with applicable copyright law.
We do not claim ownership of Your Content and will not sell or share it with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Intellectual Property
The Recipify name, logo, app design, and all associated software are the exclusive property of Recipify and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use our trademarks or branding without our prior written consent.
7. AI-Generated Content
Recipify uses artificial intelligence to digitize and structure recipes from scanned images. The AI-generated output is provided as-is and may contain errors, omissions, or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all digitized recipe content before relying on it — particularly with regard to ingredients, quantities, allergens, and cooking times.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RECIPIFY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR PERSONAL INJURY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US (IF ANY) IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Recipify and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@recipifyapp.com. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will do so.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation where possible. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be subject to binding arbitration or the exclusive jurisdiction of a court of competent jurisdiction, as applicable.
13. Changes to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time without notice or liability. We are not liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.
